Franco Fox Tail Collection

The franco chain — in Dutch also called vossenstaart, fox tail — is made up of V-shaped links that interlock tightly into a square, compact strand. The result looks almost like one solid piece of metal.

Strong and sleek

Because the links close into one another from every side, there is no point at which the chain can bend open. That makes franco, alongside the king's link, one of the strongest links there is. It also lies remarkably flat and smooth, without the loose movement of an ordinary link chain.

Franco versus king's link

Both are square and heavy, but franco is smoother and more compact where the king's link keeps a visibly woven pattern. If you want a sleek, modern line: franco. If you want visible weaving: king's link.

Material

Both fox tail models are made from stainless steel. The silver-coloured one is bare, polished steel with no coating: the colour does not change, no tarnish builds up and it can stay on in the shower. The gold-coloured one carries a five-layer PVD finish — harder than ordinary plating, but still a coating, so take that one off before the shower and the gym. The pool is off for both.
