Men's Necklaces
Men's necklaces in stainless steel, 925 sterling silver and 18K gold plated, from a 1.5 mm snake chain to a 12 mm iced out Cuban link, in lengths from 45 to 75 cm (18 to 30in). Looking for a bracelet to match? You will find the same links among the men's bracelets. The complete overview by link and material is in all necklaces.
Choose your link
The link defines the look more than the color does. The king's chain is densely woven and the strongest in the range: 2.5 mm in 925 silver and 18K gold plated, 5 mm and a 6 mm Byzantine variant in stainless steel. The Cuban link chain lies flat on the skin, from 2 to 6 mm in 925 silver, in 3, 5 and 7 mm stainless steel and in 5 mm 18K gold plated. Finer options are rope (1.5 to 4 mm), figaro (3 and 6 mm), box (2 and 3 mm), fox tail (3 mm) and snake (1.5 mm). Width, weight and drape per link are side by side in five chain link types compared.
Iced out and tennis
Fully set are the iced out chains: Cuban link in 6, 8 and 10 mm, honeycomb in 7 mm, tennis in 3 and 5 mm and the tennis cluster in 10 and 12 mm. These are made on nickel-free copper alloy with five layers of PVD. The 5 mm moissanite tennis chain and the 12 mm moissanite Cuban link are set in 925 sterling silver.
Which length?
For men's necklaces, 50 or 55 cm (20 or 22in) is the starting point for most necks; if you are broadly built or have a shorter neck, go one size longer. 50 cm (20in) falls just below your collarbone, 55 cm (22in) on the top of your breastbone and 60 cm (24in) mid chest; from 65 cm (26in) you wear the chain over a shirt or hoodie. Extra length is split over two sides, so 8 cm (3.1in) longer hangs only 4 cm (1.6in) lower. A pendant, on the other hand, adds its full height, and with one you choose a narrower link so the pendant sets the tone. The math for every length is in the chain length guide.
Material
Silver-colored stainless steel is bare, polished steel with no coating: it does not discolor, no tarnish builds up and you can keep it on in the shower. Gold-colored stainless steel has a five-layer PVD finish, harder than ordinary plating but still a coating, so take those necklaces off before the shower and the gym. 925 sterling silver is a solid precious metal with a 925 stamp on the clasp, heavier in the hand and with a deeper shine; it tarnishes slowly and a silver cloth removes that. The 18K gold plated necklaces have a 2.5 micron gold layer on 925 silver, so a goldsmith can re-plate them if the layer ever wears through. Take every model off before swimming, because chlorine is harsher than shower water.
