An iced out pendant is the way to add sparkle without wearing a fully set chain. You pair it with a smooth link, and the pendant does the work.

The right chain to go with it

Choose a narrow, quiet link so the pendant sets the tone: a box chain or a narrow king's link works best for that. A set pendant on a set chain becomes too much.

Length

At 50 cm (20in) the pendant hangs around your collarbones, at 55 to 60 cm (22 to 24in) in the middle of your chest. A heavier pendant is more comfortable on a slightly longer chain.

Material

The iced out pendant is solid 925 sterling silver with a silver-colored PVD finish. That finish is harder than ordinary plating, but it is still a coating: take the pendant off before the shower, the gym and the pool.

How do I keep the stones clear?

A pendant sits against your skin and picks up sweat, perfume and body lotion. Those settle under the settings, exactly where the light has to pass through. Brush the setting gently now and then with lukewarm water and a soft toothbrush.

Does the pendant come with a chain?

No. The pendant is delivered on its own and you choose the chain yourself. Pick one in the same color and material, otherwise small differences in shine will stand out. At almost 4 cm tall it sits best on a box or Cuban link of 2 to 3 mm; on a finer chain it pulls the line out of shape.
