King Link Chains in Silver, Gold and 925 Sterling Silver
A king's link chain is recognizable by its densely woven link pattern that looks square from every angle. It is one of the strongest link types there is, which makes it suitable for everyday wear. You will also come across the link under the names Byzantine chain and king's chain.
Which width do you choose?
This collection carries king's link chains in three widths:
- 2.5 mm — fine and subtle, also suitable for wearing a pendant
- 5 mm — the most chosen width for everyday wear
- 6 mm Byzantine model — the heaviest model, a clear statement
Which length suits you?
Lengths run from 50 to 75 cm. As a guide: 50 cm sits around the collarbones, 55 to 60 cm just below the neck, and from 65 cm you wear the chain over a shirt or hoodie.
Stainless steel or 925 sterling silver?
The stainless steel models are the affordable choice. The silver-coloured version is bare, polished steel: no coating that can wear through, the colour does not change and no tarnish builds up — that chain can stay on in the shower. The gold-coloured version carries a five-layer PVD finish, harder than ordinary plating but still a coating: take that one off before the shower and the gym. If you want a real precious metal, the 925 sterling silver king's link chain sits at the top of the collection — 92.5% pure silver, with the weight and the deep shine that come with it; that one can come into the shower and tarnishes slowly, which a silver cloth takes off again. The pool is off for every model, because chlorine is harsher than shower water.
