A Cuban link bracelet is the wrist version of the Cuban chain: flat, interlocking links that lie around your wrist like a closed band. Because it does not tilt, the shine stays continuous and it sits calmly.
Widths in this collection
In stainless steel, silver-tone and gold-tone, in 3, 5 and 7 mm. In 925 sterling silver in 4 mm and in 18K gold plated on 925 silver in 5 mm. Iced out with cubic zirconia in 6, 8 and 10 mm, of which 8 mm is the width we sell most often, and with moissanite on 925 silver in 12 mm. The right size
Measure your wrist with a tape measure or a strip of paper, just below the wrist bone, and add 1.5 to 2 cm. Most Cuban bracelets come in 18, 20 and 22 cm (7.1, 7.9 and 8.7 in); the 4 mm silver one in 20 and 22 cm and the moissanite Cuban in 19 and 22 cm. Width and pairing
Slimmer 3 to 5 mm models sit next to a watch without fighting for attention. Wider models of 7 mm and more are a statement in themselves and are best worn on their own. Material and wear
A bracelet rubs against sleeves and tables, so wear matters more here than on a chain. Silver-tone stainless steel is bare, polished steel: no layer to wear off and no tarnish, so a wipe with a dry cloth is enough and the bracelet can go in the shower. The gold-tone steel models and the stone-set models on nickel-free copper alloy have a five-layer PVD finish. It is harder than ordinary plating, but it is still a layer, so take those off before the shower and the gym. 925 sterling silver feels heavier and tarnishes slowly; a silver cloth takes care of that in no time. Every model comes off before the pool, because chlorine is harsher than shower water.
