Jubilee Bracelets: The Watch Link in Silver, Gold and Rose Gold

A jubilee bracelet has five rows of links side by side, narrow rows along the wider ones: the watch link as a piece of jewelry in its own right. No watch face, just the band: a sleek, closed link that lies smoothly around your wrist.
Why this style works
The links are short and close together, so the bracelet moves smoothly and has no sharp points. That makes it more comfortable to wear for long stretches than a chunky link bracelet. The flat top gives a continuous surface of shine.
Width, size and clasp
The jubilee bracelet is 10 mm wide, in 18, 20 and 22 cm (7.1, 7.9 and 8.7 in). Measure your wrist just below the wrist bone and add 1.5 to 2 cm. The folding clasp closes flat, like on a watch strap, so no lobster clasp sticks out. At 10 mm this is a bracelet that stands on its own; it does work next to a fine 2.5 to 3 mm rope or king's link bracelet in the same color.
Next to a watch
Wear it on the other wrist, not next to your watch: otherwise two similar links compete for attention, and metal on metal scratches both.
Three colors
The silver-tone jubilee goes with a steel watch and needs no upkeep. The gold-tone and rose gold-tone ones are warmer in tone and stand out more. Choose the color that comes back in your watch, ring or chain.

Material
These models are made of solid stainless steel. The silver-tone jubilee is bare, polished steel: there is no layer that can wear off, it does not discolor and wear leaves no lighter patch behind, so you can keep it on in the shower. The gold-tone and rose gold-tone versions are finished with five layers of PVD; that bonded finish is harder than ordinary plating, which matters on a bracelet whose links rub against each other all day. It is still a layer, so take those two off before the shower and the gym. All three come off before the pool, because chlorine is harsher than shower water. And steel is not silver, so a silver polishing cloth is of no use here.
