Signet Rings for Men in Silver and Gold

You recognize a signet ring by its flat, broad top. That face was originally used to seal documents with a family crest; today you put initials, a date or a symbol on it. This collection carries the signet ring in two finishes: silver tone and 18K gold plated.

Which size do you need?

Sizes 6 through 10 are US sizes; we do not carry half sizes. Measure the inside diameter of a ring you already wear and look it up in the ring size chart. If you are between two sizes, take the larger one — a signet ring has a heavier top and therefore sits tighter than a plain band. Wearing it on your pinky? Then go one size below your ring finger.

What can you put on it?

Initials work best: three letters stay readable on this face, while a full name quickly turns small. A date in figures is a good second. At checkout you choose between a text engraving and a photo engraving. The engraving sits in the metal rather than on it, so it does not come off.

Silver tone or gold tone

The silver signet ring is bare, polished stainless steel with no coating: nothing can wear off it and it can stay on in the shower. The gold signet ring has an 18K plating over that same steel base. Around an engraving the edges stand proud, so the layer wears faster there — take that ring off before the shower, the gym and the pool.
