Iced Out: Jewelry Collection
Iced out means fully set with stones, so that hardly any metal stays visible. The term comes from hip-hop culture, where heavily set jewelry has been part of the look since the eighties — iced as in covered in ice.
What it comes down to
With iced out jewelry the setting decides everything. The stones should sit tightly beside one another with no visible space between them, because it is exactly those gaps that give away cheap work and trap dirt.
In this collection
Iced out chains, bracelets, pendants and rings, set with cubic zirconia.
How much to wear
One iced out piece per outfit is enough. If you wear a fully set chain, keep the rest plain — otherwise the pieces compete with one another and the effect loses its force.
Care
This is the category where cleaning makes the most difference. Soap and body lotion build up under the settings, exactly where the light needs to pass through. Brush them gently now and then with lukewarm water and a soft toothbrush.
