You recognize a figaro chain by its rhythm: three short links followed by one longer one, over and over. That alternating pattern is the hallmark of this Italian link and makes it recognizable without being loud.

Why figaro works

The pattern breaks up the regularity of an ordinary link chain, so it looks more interesting than a plain link but calmer than a wide Cuban link. That puts figaro right in the middle — and it is why it has stayed popular for decades.

Width and wearing

Narrower figaro chains are suitable for wearing a pendant; wider models come into their own on their own. The longer link also gives you a natural point to attach a pendant to.

Material

The figaro models are made from stainless steel. The silver-coloured version is bare, polished steel: no coating that can wear through, the colour does not change and you never need a silver cloth for it — that one can stay on in the shower. The gold-coloured version carries a five-layer PVD finish, harder than ordinary plating but still a coating: take that one off before the shower and the gym.
