The jubilee link is made of five rows side by side, with narrow links flanking the broader ones. That makes the bracelet 10mm wide and completely flexible, so it folds around the wrist instead of sitting on it like a stiff band. It is why this link type has long been used on watch bracelets. The base is stainless steel with a gold-tone finish applied in five layers of PVD.

Why a Jubilee Link Wears Differently
Where a Cuban or king's link is made of separate, thick links, the jubilee is built from many small elements. That gives you two things: the bracelet lies flat on your wrist without tilting, and light breaks on dozens of small faces at once instead of on a few large ones. The result is a finer, calmer shine that is noticed without shouting. The fold-over clasp closes flush, so there is no thick lobster sitting under your wrist.
Five Layers of PVD, and Why That Matters on a Wrist
The gold color is applied with PVD, physical vapor deposition: the material is bonded to the steel at molecular level inside a vacuum chamber rather than electroplated on top, and Carpe Ice applies it in five layers. That makes the finish considerably harder and more scratch-resistant than ordinary gold plating, which matters on a wrist because it rubs along sleeves and table edges all day. On a jubilee the flexibility adds to it: the links move against each other constantly. It is not solid gold, so take the bracelet off before the pool, the shower, sport and DIY, and store it dry. The silver-tone jubilee does not need that: it is bare steel with no coating, while this one carries a gold layer that can wear through.
18, 20 or 22 cm
Measure your wrist and add about 1.5 cm: that comes to 18 cm (7.1 in) for a narrower wrist, 20 cm (7.9 in) for most and 22 cm (8.7 in) if you want it looser. A fold-over clasp cannot be adjusted the way a lobster with an extension chain can, so measuring pays off more here than on a link bracelet. If in doubt, take the larger: at 10mm five rows of links press into your skin as soon as there is no slack left.
The Steel Core
Under the finish sits stainless steel, which does not rust and holds its shape. At 10mm and with five rows of links, that really matters: a softer alloy would stretch and start to sag over time.
Styling
