Honeycomb Chain Silver Iced Out (7mm) That Gives a Field of Sparkle Rather Than a Line
Where a tennis chain has a single row of stones, the honeycomb works with a honeycomb structure: hexagonal cells sitting against one another and filling the whole 7mm width. That gives you not a line but an unbroken field of sparkle, with stones catching the light at different heights. The silver-tone finish is applied in five layers of PVD.

Why a Copper Alloy and Not Stainless Steel
A honeycomb pattern calls for dozens of small settings that meet each other precisely. Copper can be worked more finely than stainless steel, so those cells sit tightly together and almost no metal stays visible between the stones. On steel you do not get that density, which is why virtually every serious iced out piece is built on a copper base. Copper is also denser than hollow steel, which gives the chain the solid weight you miss on cheaper pieces.
Five Layers of PVD Over the Copper Base
The silver colour is applied with PVD, physical vapour deposition: the material is bonded at molecular level inside a vacuum chamber rather than laid on galvanically, at Carpe Ice in five layers. That makes the finish noticeably harder and more scratch-resistant than an ordinary coating. On a cool silver tone that counts double, because any worn spot would otherwise show as a warmer undertone. The alloy underneath is nickel-free.

The hexagonal cells create depth that a flat setting does not have: the stones do not all sit at the same height, so a different part lights up with every movement. At 7mm that is broad enough to read as a statement, but narrow enough to disappear under a collar if you want to wear it more quietly. The geometric pattern also gives the chain a more modern character than the classic continuous row of a tennis chain.
45, 50 or 55 cm
On a set chain the length decides how much of the field stays visible. At 45 cm it sits high and part of it disappears behind a collar, which works if you want it under smart clothing. At 50 cm it falls around the collarbone and that is the most chosen length. At 55 cm it hangs free on the chest, where the honeycomb catches light along its full length.
Keeping It Sparkling
A copper alloy is more sensitive to moisture than steel, so this is a piece for going out rather than for the gym. Take the chain off before showering, swimming and training, apply fragrance and deodorant before you put it on, and store it dry in the box it came in. On a honeycomb structure dust gathers between the cells faster than on a flat setting; lift it out with a dry, soft toothbrush. That is what dulls the sparkle first, not the stones themselves.
Styling
On its own the honeycomb chain is emphatic enough to be the only piece you wear. If you want a set, the honeycomb bracelet in the same width and finish is the obvious addition. If you combine it with a link chain, choose a clearly different length so the iced out field does not compete with the link.
