The Ice Blox is a broad men's ring with a cuban link structure set all the way round with VVS CZ stones. Because the pattern runs across the whole band, the ring sparkles from every angle rather than only on top the way a single-stone ring does. Five Layers of PVD, and Why That Weighs Heaviest on a Ring

Of all jewellery a ring takes the most punishment: your hands meet doors, keyboards, steering wheels and shopping bags. So how the gold colour was applied counts here. With PVD the material is bonded to the steel at molecular level inside a vacuum chamber rather than laid on galvanically, and at Carpe Ice that happens in five layers. That makes the finish considerably harder and more scratch-resistant than ordinary gold plating. Indestructible it is not: take it off before the pool, the shower, DIY, sport and washing up, and the colour stays even for longest.

Why a Stainless Steel Base on a Ring

Stainless steel is harder than the copper alloys often used for iced out jewellery. On a chain that makes little difference, but on a ring you knock against everything it does: steel does not deform and the settings around the stones stay tight. The steel does not rust and does not bend out of shape, even with daily wear.

Choosing Your Size

The Ice Blox comes in sizes 7 to 11. These are US sizes; half sizes do not exist here. On a broad ring like this the wider surface does not slide over your knuckle as easily as a narrow band. If you are unsure between two sizes, take the larger. Measure at the end of the day where you can, because fingers are slightly thicker then than in the morning. The ring size chart converts the inside diameter of a ring you already own into the right US size.

Cleaning

Hand cream, soap and dust collect between the stones, and that is what dulls the sparkle first, not the stones themselves. A dry, soft toothbrush lifts it out. Do not use an ultrasonic bath or abrasives: those are meant for solid metal and attack a finish instead.

Styling

The cuban structure makes the Ice Blox a logical addition to a cuban chain or bracelet in the same gold colour. Wear it on its own, on a hand without other rings: a band set all round in gold is a piece that wants the attention to itself.
