Iced Out Cross Chain Silver With Blue Stones (6.5mm) in the Rarest Colour in Iced Out
A cross chain of 6.5mm in which the central cross is set with blue VVS CZ. Blue is the rarest colour in an iced out range, and that makes this chain more noticeable than a wider piece in clear stones alone. The silver-tone finish is applied in five layers of PVD.

Why Blue Works on a Cool Tone
A coloured stone absorbs part of the light spectrum and returns the rest, so you see less sparkle but more colour. Against a cool silver-tone background blue therefore reads more sharply than against gold, where the warm undertone weakens the colour. That is why this design is made in silver tone rather than gold: the contrast is greater and the blue stones stay blue instead of looking greenish.
6.5mm Is the Everyday Width
This is the narrowest iced out cross piece we carry, and that is exactly what makes it usable. At 6.5mm the chain fits beside a collar and under a jacket, where the 15mm set with coloured stones only works loose over clothing. If you want something you can keep on during an ordinary day that still has colour, this is the version; if you want a statement visible across a room, look at the 15mm.
Why a Copper Alloy and Not Stainless Steel
A fully set cross calls for dozens of small settings that meet each other precisely. Copper can be worked more finely than stainless steel, so those settings close tightly around each stone and almost no metal stays visible between them. That is why virtually every serious iced out piece is built on a copper base. Copper is also denser than hollow steel, which gives the chain the weight that lets it hang calmly.
Five Layers of PVD Over the Copper Base
The silver colour is applied with PVD, physical vapour deposition: the material is bonded at molecular level inside a vacuum chamber rather than laid on galvanically, at Carpe Ice in five layers. That makes the finish considerably harder and more scratch-resistant than an ordinary coating. On a cool tone that counts double, because a worn spot would otherwise show as a warmer undertone. The alloy underneath is nickel-free.
45 or 50 cm
At 45 cm the chain sits high against the neck and the cross stays inside a shirt collar. At 50 cm it falls just below the collarbone, where the blue lies free and catches the most light. If you are wearing it over a T-shirt, choose 50; if you want to keep it under smart clothing, 45 is the size.
Keeping It Sparkling
A copper alloy is more sensitive to moisture than steel, so this is a piece for going out rather than for the gym. Take the chain off before showering, swimming and training, apply fragrance and deodorant before you put it on, and store it dry. Dust collects between the stones, and that is what dulls the sparkle first; a dry, soft toothbrush lifts it out.
Styling
At 6.5mm this is a chain that stands out without taking over, so layering does work, as long as you choose something neutral beside it without stones and without colour. If you want a set, the cross bracelet with blue stones in the same width and finish is the logical addition.
