Clover Bracelet Silver ICED OUT on a Base of Solid 925 Silver
A four-leaf clover fully set with 5A CZ stones, on a base of solid 925 sterling silver. What makes it unusual is the combination: you get a precious metal base with a five-layer PVD finish over it. That layer slows the tarnishing while it is intact, but it stays a layer and a layer can wear through.

925 Silver With PVD: Why That Is Unusual
Silver has one well-known drawback: it reacts to air and sweat and darkens over time. On most silver jewellery, polishing simply comes with it. Here there is a layer over the silver applied with PVD, physical vapour deposition, in which the material is bonded at molecular level inside a vacuum chamber. At Carpe Ice that happens in five layers. That layer shields the silver from the air, so the tarnishing silver is known for takes longer to appear. Where the layer wears through, the silver is exposed again and tarnishes as silver does. It is a combination you rarely see, simply because it costs more than silver alone or a coated base alone: you are paying for the precious metal and for the treatment over it.
Why a 925 Base Matters on an Iced Out Piece
On a fully set design everything depends on the settings around the stones. Silver is soft enough to close them tightly and hard enough to hold them in place, which is why it has been the standard material for setting work for centuries. And unlike a coated base of non-precious metal, if any wear does occur no other metal appears: underneath there is simply silver.
The Four-Leaf Clover
The four-leaf clover stands for luck, which makes this one of the few pieces that lends itself naturally as a gift with a message. In the iced out version the symbol stays recognisable while the whole thing still reads as a statement, where a plain clover looks more subtle.
Choosing Your Size
The bracelet comes in 18 and 21 cm. Measure your wrist and add about 1.5 cm: below 17 cm take 18 cm, above that 21 cm is right. If you are unsure between the two, take the larger, because an iced out bracelet worn tight presses the settings against your skin and that does not wear comfortably.
Care
There is a PVD layer over the 925 silver, and that is a finish that can wear through. So take the bracelet off before the pool, the shower and sport, apply hand cream and fragrance before you put it on, and store it dry. Where the layer wears through, the silver shows and that spot can tarnish; a silver polishing cloth removes it, but use it only on the silver, not over the layer or the stones. Hand cream and dust collect between the stones, and that is what dulls the sparkle first, not the stones themselves. A dry, soft toothbrush lifts it out. Do not use an ultrasonic bath or abrasives, because those are meant for solid metal without a finish.
Styling
Silver tone matches the case and bracelet of almost any steel watch. If you want to stay within the same line, the clover pendant in the same finish follows on logically.
