Why Silver Is the Safest Choice on a Wrist

A wrist rubs against sleeves, table edges and a watch strap all day, and that is exactly where a colored finish wears visibly first. That is not an issue here, because there is no finish: the silver color is the polished steel itself. Nothing can wear off, so wear leaves no lighter patch the way it does on gold. Of all the bracelets in the range, this is the one that asks for the least attention.

Which Width and Which Size

The 3mm is subtle and stays quiet even next to a watch. The 5mm is our best-selling size and is clearly a Cuban without taking over. The 7mm is a statement and is best worn on your free wrist. The bracelet comes in 18, 20 and 22 cm (7.1, 7.9 and 8.7 in): measure your wrist and add about 1.5 cm. At the wider sizes you want a little more room, because flat links sit less comfortably tight around a wrist than a fine chain does.

Water, Sweat and Cleaning

You can keep it on for washing your hands, rain and the shower: there is no layer on it that can wear through. Do take it off before the swimming pool, because chlorine is harsher than shower water. Take the gold-tone Cuban bracelet off before the shower and sport, though, because that one does have a layer over the steel. Soap residue does collect between the flat links and dulls the shine, so rinse it with clean water now and then. If more dirt works its way in, use lukewarm water, mild soap and a soft toothbrush. Silver polish is unnecessary, because no tarnish forms.

Next to a Watch

Silver-tone steel is the safest tone to combine, because it matches the case and bracelet of almost any steel watch. Wear both on the same wrist, on the hand side, with a few centimeters between them so they do not tap against each other. If you want a set, the Cuban chain in the same width follows on logically.
