Cuban Chain 925 Sterling Silver (2mm) Made of the Same Metal as Your Pendant
The finest cuban chain we make in solid 925 sterling silver. Because the links are flat and interlock tightly, the chain does not roll onto its side, and at this width that makes it the most practical silver pendant chain in the range.

The Best Silver Base for a Pendant
A round or twisted link rolls with your movements, so a pendant hangs crooked within an hour. The flat cuban link does not do that. In solid silver there is something a plated chain cannot offer: pendant and chain react to the same metal, so they keep the same tone. Under a silver pendant, a plated chain will show that difference over time.
What 2mm Means in Silver
Silver is softer than steel, and at this width that is the only thing to keep in mind. The chain handles daily wear perfectly well, but do not pull it over your head with the clasp done up, because that is what actually breaks fine chains. If it does go wrong, there is good news: solid silver can be soldered, so a jeweller repairs it rather than you buying a new one.
50, 55 or 60 cm
If you are hanging a pendant on it, work backwards from where you want to see it: a 4 cm pendant on a 50 cm chain finishes where a bare 58 cm chain would end. Without a pendant, 50 cm sits around the collarbone and stays inside a shirt collar, 55 cm is the most chosen length, and 60 cm hangs free on the chest.
Tarnishing Comes With the Metal
Silver reacts to air and sweat and darkens over time. That belongs to the metal and a silver cloth lifts it in a minute. On a flat link that is easier than on a twisted one, because a cloth reaches everywhere. If you want something that never tarnishes, our stainless steel cuban is the more practical choice; if you want precious metal with material value, this is the one.
Care
Take the chain off before the pool, because chlorine attacks silver. In the shower it can stay on: there is no layer that can wear off, and the tarnish silver develops polishes back out. Lukewarm water, a drop of mild soap and dry it thoroughly. Soap collects between flat links and dulls the shine, so rinse well after cleaning. Store it separately in the box it came in, because silver resting against other metal scratches and tarnishes faster.
