Rope Jewelry Collection
A rope chain is made of twisted links that run together like a rope and catch light from every side. In 925 sterling silver, 18K gold plated or stainless steel, from 1.5 to 4 mm, and also as a rope bracelet.
A rope chain is made up of links that spiral around one another, so the whole chain looks like a twisted rope. Hence the name.
Why rope stands out
The spiral shape creates small facets at every angle, so the chain catches light from all sides. Where a flat link gives one continuous surface of shine, rope gives one continuous twinkling effect, without a single stone involved.
For a pendant
Rope is one of the best links to wear a pendant on: it is round in cross-section, so the pendant turns with it and hangs straight, and it is narrow enough that the attention goes to the pendant.
Material
Silver-colored stainless steel is bare, polished steel: no coating that can wear through, the color does not change and you never need a silver cloth for it. The gold-colored steel models carry a five-layer PVD finish. It is harder than ordinary plating, but still a coating, so take those off before the shower and the gym. The 18K gold plated rope models have 2.5 microns of gold over solid silver: also a layer, so the same rule applies. Take every model off before swimming. 925 sterling silver weighs more and has a deeper shine, which suits this link particularly well.
