Why the Clover

The four-leaf clover is the one lucky symbol people wear even when they are not superstitious: the shape carries itself, four equal leaves around a center point. What Moissanite Actually Is

Moissanite is silicon carbide, a mineral so rare in nature that it is grown in a laboratory. So it is not glass and not cubic zirconia, but a gemstone in its own right. That is physics, not a sales line. Moissanite has a refractive index of around 2.65 against 2.42 for diamond, so more white light comes back. The deciding figure is dispersion: 0.104 against 0.044 for diamond. That is more than double, and dispersion is exactly what produces the colored flashes you see the moment the stone moves. In a pavé setting like this one it works harder than in a single large stone, because every facet flashes in its own direction.
