Why the Clover

The four leaf clover is the one lucky symbol people wear even when they're not superstitious: the shape speaks for itself, four equal leaves around a center point. That makes it one of the few motifs that stay recognizable at earring size, because you don't need any detail to see what it is. From a distance you see the shape; up close, the stonework.

What Moissanite Actually Is

Moissanite is lab created silicon carbide, a gemstone in its own right. It's extremely rare in nature, and it isn't glass or cubic zirconia. On the Mohs hardness scale moissanite scores 9.25, compared with 10 for diamond and 8 to 8.5 for cubic zirconia. In a clover with many small stones, that matters even more: when the material is soft, the edges of small stones are the first to wear, and that's where a dull look begins.

Why Moissanite Sparkles More Than Diamond

That's physics, not a sales pitch. Moissanite has a refractive index of around 2.65 versus 2.42 for diamond, so more white light comes back. The number that really counts is dispersion: 0.104 versus 0.044 for diamond. That's more than double, and dispersion is exactly what creates the colored flashes you see the moment the stone moves. In a pavé setting like this one, it works even harder than in a single large stone, because every facet flashes in its own direction.

How 7mm Looks on the Ear
