925 Silver or a Copper Alloy With PVD?

For a bracelet that is a real trade-off, because both have something going for them. Our tennis bracelet on a copper alloy has a 5x PVD finish that is harder than silver and costs considerably less. This one has no finish that can wear off: what you see is the metal itself, with material value and the option of being polished or repaired. Silver is softer, so you will pick up fine marks of use sooner here, and it can darken over time. If you want something for going out with maximum hardness, take the copper version; if you want precious metal on your wrist, this is the one.

Moissanite Against Cubic Zirconia

Most tennis bracelets are made with cubic zirconia. Moissanite scores 9.25 on the Mohs hardness scale against 8 to 8.5 for cubic zirconia, and on a wrist that weighs more heavily than at the neck: your hand meets table edges, keyboards and a steering wheel all day. That is exactly where the hardness of the stone decides whether the row still looks sharp a year from now. The dispersion of 0.104 against 0.044 for diamond also gives more colored flashes, which on a moving wrist is visible constantly.

How Tight It Should Sit

The bracelet comes in 18 and 20 cm (7.1 and 7.9 in). A tennis bracelet may sit slightly looser than a link bracelet, so it can turn and the stones keep catching a different angle. Worn tight, the same row stays facing up and you lose half the effect. Too loose is a problem here: the box clasp then turns to the top of your wrist and you end up looking at the clasp instead of the stones. Measure your wrist and add about 1.5 cm.

Care

Hand cream and soap collect under the setting, and that is where the sparkle dulls first, not the stones themselves. Lukewarm water, a drop of mild soap and a soft toothbrush along the underside will lift it away. If the silver between the settings darkens over time, touch it up with a silver cloth. Do not use an ultrasonic bath or abrasives.
