On a wrist a byzantine link comes into its own more than around the neck: you see the open loops from close range and the pattern changes with every movement of your hand. In gold that gives you a bracelet that looks like one warm strand from a distance and like a built weave close up. The base is stainless steel with a gold-tone finish applied in five layers of PVD.

How Tight, and Which Size
The bracelet comes in 18, 20 and 22 cm (7.1, 7.9 and 8.7 in). Measure your wrist just below the wrist bone and add about 2 cm: at 16 cm (6.3 in) take 18, around 18 cm (7.1 in) take 20, and above that 22. You should be able to slide a finger in comfortably. A byzantine link is thick and needs room to move; if it sits tight the loops press into your skin and the weave is pulled straight, which is exactly where the depth you bought it for disappears. If you fall between two sizes, go up, because this weave wears better slightly loose than tight.
Byzantine or King's Link?
On a wrist this matters more than on a chain, simply because you look at it close up all day. The byzantine link you see here has wider loops and more shadow; the king's link is more compact and regular and therefore looks quieter under a sleeve. Five Layers of PVD, and Why That Matters on a Wrist
The gold color is applied with PVD, physical vapor deposition: the material is bonded to the steel at molecular level inside a vacuum chamber rather than electroplated on top, and Carpe Ice applies it in five layers. That makes the finish considerably harder and more scratch-resistant than ordinary gold plating. On this bracelet two things come together: a wrist rubs along sleeves, desk edges and a watch strap all day, and this weave has more protruding loops than any other bracelet to take that contact. It is not solid gold, so take it off for sport and DIY, and wear it on your non-dominant wrist where you can.
Care
Take the bracelet off before the pool, the shower and the gym, and put it on once aftershave and hand cream have dried. The silver-tone version is bare steel with no layer and can stay on; this gold-tone one has a PVD layer, so take it off. Soap residue collects deep between the loops and that is precisely what takes the depth out of the pattern; lukewarm water, mild soap and a soft toothbrush will lift it out. Dry it thoroughly afterwards.
Next to a Watch
At 6mm with this volume the bracelet will not be pushed aside. Wear it on your free wrist rather than beside a watch; if you do want them together, leave plenty of space, because metal against metal scratches on both sides.
