The gold byzantine bracelet uses several small links woven into every section, which is what gives the pattern its depth and its rope-like texture. Byzantine or king's link?

Sizing a wide bracelet
A minute with a strip of paper gets this right first time. Measure your wrist just below the wrist bone, then add length for the fit you want. A wide bracelet sits a little higher off the skin, so it likes slightly more room than a thin one.
Add 2 to 2.5 cm to your wrist measurement for a comfortable everyday fit

An 18 cm wrist therefore lands on the 20 cm size, a 19 to 20 cm wrist on the 22 cm. Between two sizes, the larger one gives the better drape.
Five layers of PVD, and why that counts on a wrist
A wrist asks more of a finish than a neck does: it runs along sleeves, desk edges and a seatbelt all day, and on a woven link it is the raised loops that take the brunt. That is why the gold colour here is applied by physical vapour deposition, bonded to the steel at a molecular level inside a vacuum chamber rather than laid on electrically, and at Carpe Ice in five layers. The finish is considerably harder and more scratch resistant than ordinary gold plating. It is not indestructible, so take it off for sport, swimming and DIY, put it on after aftershave and hand cream have dried, and wear it on your non-dominant wrist.
